Bromelain
Bromelain is a mixture of enzymes found in the stems of pineapples. It is distinct from the bromelain found in the pineapple fruit.

As a mixture of proteases, bromelain has been used by Europeans for many years for its health related benefits. Its components work to help support the body’s normal healing process. This is important for healthy joint function and the body’s natural recovery process.

Bromelain has been studied both in experimental models and clinical studies for its effects on the immune functions. It also supports healthy levels of fibrin in the blood, which promotes healing.

White Willow Bark
White willow bark is the bark of the salix tree, which is native to Europe and Asia. Its name comes from the color of the leaves, which are covered with white hairs. White willow bark has been traditionally used for many years, dating back as far as the ancient Egyptians who used it for its health properties.  

Willow bark constituents include flavonoids, tannins and salicylates. The active constituent of willow bark is thought to be salicin. In the body, salicin is metabolized to salicyl alcohol and then to salicylic acid. White willow bark has been shown to support normal blood flow.

Protease

If you are currently taking any prescription medications or have an ongoing medical condition, you should consult your healthcare provider before using this product. If you have a known allergy to pineapple, have peptic ulcers, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not use this product.

How do you take Isotonix Bromelain Plus?
As the directions suggest, pour 3 level, white bottle capfuls of powder into a cup. Add 6 fl. oz./180 ml (line on the overcap indicates 2 fl. oz./60 ml) of water and stir. As a dietary supplement, take once daily or as directed by your healthcare provider. Maximum absorption occurs when taken on an empty stomach. This product is isotonic only if the specified amounts of powder and water are used. Do not take with food.

Where does bromelain come from?
Bromelain is found in every part of the pineapple, although it is most plentiful in the stem. Most commercially-grown pineapple is sliced, canned or juiced. The remains are rich with this substance, which is then extracted. Originally used as a meat tenderizer because of its ability to break down proteins, research now shows that powdered bromelain promotes health.
