What Makes Prime™ NMN Unique?
Cellular health forms the foundation of overall health. Our bodies are composed of nearly 30 trillion cells, and inside every one of them, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) resides. This unique molecule is correlated with one’s youth; the higher the concentration of NAD+ in a person’s cells, the more youthful they are biologically, regardless of their chronological age. As a coenzyme, NAD plays a vital role in promoting normal sirtuin activity while maintaining healthy NAD+ metabolism and aging by supporting essential cellular and metabolic processes. NAD is also crucial for sustaining ATP production within cells and supporting mitochondrial function. NAD+ shares a role in over 500 different cellular functions and chemical reactions. Research shows that NAD+ levels peak at 100% between the ages of 13 and 30, but may decline by as much as 50% between the ages of 31 and 61.
Prime™ NMN: Biohacking for Cellular Health
Although aging is a natural and inevitable process, evidence shows that you can support healthy cellular NAD+ production with precursors and other ingredients that work to maintain and promote the body’s NAD+ levels. Prime™ NMN is a vegan and gluten-free formula packed with 500 milligrams of nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), a direct NAD precursor, plus 3 milligrams of the trademarked ingredient Yuth™ (spermidine) and 100 milligrams of fisetin to support healthy aging at the cellular level. Prime NMN is specifically formulated to equip your cells with the energy they need for long-term vitality. Each ingredient when combined, helps promote cellular health while supporting healthy aging and NAD+ metabolism.
Access the Primary NAD+ Pathway With the Next-Generation NAD+ Precursor NMN
Over time, our bodies encounter more environmental and lifestyle factors that may influence overall cellular and metabolic function as we age; these factors have been shown to influence the level of NAD in our cells. Another factor influencing healthy NAD+ production is nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT), an enzyme that is vital for cellular NAD+ production, specifically through the salvage pathway. The expression of this enzyme declines with age and becomes less active, which is associated with decreased NAD+ production, resulting in lower concentrations of NAD+ in the body’s tissues. Decreased levels of NAD+ reduces sirtuin enzyme activity; when there is less sirtuin activity, there would be slower DNA repair processes.
With this understanding, it is no wonder our NAD levels drop as much as half between the ages of 31 and 61. Sirtuins are associated with supporting healthy cellular functions. They help guard the cells from stressors and play a major role in helping to maintain DNA integrity. The decrease in sirtuin activity, accompanied by age, can impact cellular health and functioning, ultimately contributing to aging. While some may think that directly supplementing with NAD+ may be the best way to support NAD pools however, recent studies shows otherwise. The consumption and synthesis of NAD are two factors that play into the replenishment or restoration of intracellular NAD+. NMN is chemically distinct from NAD+ (being a precursor rather than NAD+ itself) and is also smaller in molecular shape, meaning it can be absorbed and utilized by the body more easily than NAD+. Prime NMN doesn’t include NAD+ itself; rather, it utilizes the most available precursor, NMN, triggering the most optimal pathway for NAD+ support.
NMN: Spark Cellular Energy, NAD+ Metabolism and Cellular Health
Prime NMN is formulated with the biologically active form of NMN (β-type) shown to effectively support NAD+ biosynthesis. This revolutionary NAD+ precursor, NMN, is taking the name of modern-day “holy grail” for maintaining healthy NAD+ levels. Among common NAD+ precursors, NMN sits the closest, being only one step away in the biochemical pathway responsible for NAD+ production. Additionally, NMN has been shown to be more quickly absorbed by the gut and the body’s tissues — this bioavailability is why it is recognized today as one of the most effective and efficient NAD+ precursors for jumpstarting cellular energy and supporting cellular NAD+ levels. Research indicates that orally administered NMN is absorbed rapidly — often within minutes — and shortly after ingestion, it can support the production of NAD+ in various tissues. Some NAD+ precursors follow indirect and slower pathways that delay NAD+ generation in relation to the more direct routes, like NMN uptake. Of the three major pathways associated with maintaining this healthy balance of NAD+ in the cells, NMN specifically acts upon the salvage pathway. This pathway has been shown to be the most powerful for influencing baseline blood levels of NAD, with as much as 85% of cellular NAD+ being produced in the salvage pathway. Working with this pathway is especially beneficial for those in their 30s, when NAD naturally begins to dip. Research shows that while NMN can successfully increase NAD+ levels above the baseline of the levels measured before supplementation, the amount of NMN within the supplement is also important, as it influences how quickly this increase can be seen.
NMN supplementation has demonstrated its ability to support performance and physical vitality in older adults. A study found that elderly men who supplemented with 250 milligrams of NMN for 12 weeks experienced moderate improvements in muscle performance, specifically in gait speed and grip strength, compared to those in the placebo group. A second study analyzing the effects of chronic NMN supplementation in older men reported better sleep quality and significant improvements in walking speed (an indicator of physical activity and muscle functioning) in comparison to the placebo group. Both studies revealed that chronic NMN supplementation can significantly support NAD+ blood levels and NAD+-related metabolites in older adults. NMN supplementation may also benefit metabolic health. NMN’s ability to promote NAD+ metabolites and support cellular energy, mobility and sleep quality are all important for supporting mitochondrial function and cellular energy production.
Yuth™ (Spermidine) and Fisetin: Fueling Cellular Health and Resilience
Alongside NMN, which serves as the cellular powerhouse to help support our cells’ NAD+, 3 milligrams of Yuth™ (a specialized form of spermidine) contribute to Prime NMM’s powerhouse formula. Spermidine, sometimes referred to as the youth molecule, supports cellular health and helps maintain the balance, or homeostasis, of our cells. Like NAD+, spermidine levels and the body’s ability to absorb it also decline with age; evidence suggests that healthy levels of this compound are associated with healthy aging and longevity. It is believed that one of the many reasons the body has a more difficult time absorbing spermidine with age is due to changes in the gut microbiome, as the gut microorganisms produce less of it. Eating foods with high spermidine content or supplementing with spermidine directly has been demonstrated to be one of the most effective ways to help combat this decline. This supports spermidine’s ability to promote healthy activity of epithelial stem cells, the cells responsible for maintaining the health of skin and the gut. Preliminary studies on spermidine intake also suggest it supports hair growth and follicle function. In one randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study, daily supplementation with spermidine was associated with an increased proportion of hair follicles in the normal growth (anagen) phase compared with placebo after 90 days. These results suggest that spermidine intake may help maintain hair in its normal growth phase (anagen).
Prime NMN also contains 100 milligrams of fisetin, a unique plant compound well-known for its powerful antioxidant properties, to help combat free radicals and defend our cells against oxidative stress. Like spermidine, fisetin has been thoroughly studied for its ability to promote cellular health, helping maintain mitochondrial functioning and cellular energy production. However, the mechanisms of action through which fisetin and spermidine support cellular health are different: Fisetin works to support normal cellular processes, whereas spermidine is more like a housekeeper that helps to maintain the health of cells. More and more evidence suggests that spermidine may also be effective for supporting cognitive function and brain health, as well as metabolic health. Spermidine’s ability to support metabolic health may be due to its role in promoting cellular health and helping to maintain normal glucose levels. In a small, placebo-controlled study involving older adults with subjective memory concerns, supplementation with approximately 1.2 milligrams of spermidine daily for three months was associated with modest changes in certain memory performance measures (findings are preliminary and limited to the studied population).
Keeping your cellular NAD+ levels at their peak is essential for vibrant energy, optimal mitochondrial function and graceful aging. Prime NMN harnesses cutting-edge science with a powerful combination of the powerful NAD+ precursor NMN and innovative ingredients like spermidine and fisetin. Key Ingredients
Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN): 500 milligrams
Beta-nicotinamide mononucleotide is a naturally occurring precursor to NAD+, a coenzyme that plays a central role in converting nutrients into cellular energy and supporting cell maintenance processes. When taken orally, it is absorbed through the digestive tract, enters circulation and is taken up by cells, where it is enzymatically transformed into NAD+ and contributes to the cellular NAD+ pool. Higher NAD+ availability helps mitochondria generate adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary energy currency of the cell, and supports the activity of NAD+-dependent enzymes involved in the maintenance of DNA integrity, metabolic regulation and cellular responses, including sirtuins. By helping support levels of NAD+, Prime NMN is designed to promote sustained cellular energy production, maintain mitochondrial efficiency and reinforce the internal systems that support overall cellular health. In practical terms, NMN supplies key raw material that allows cells to better “recharge,” supporting vitality, healthy aging and resilience at the cellular level.
Fisetin: 100 milligrams
Fisetin is a plant-derived antioxidant found in fruits, such as strawberries, apples and mangoes, and is actively studied for its ability to support healthy aging at the cellular level. Fisetin is absorbed through the gut into the bloodstream, where it enters cells and helps neutralize excess free radicals, supporting protection against oxidative stress. Beyond its antioxidant effects, fisetin is studied for its role in supporting overall cellular health. Research suggests fisetin is associated with normal cellular processes involved in maintaining healthy cells over time. It is also commonly discussed in scientific literature in connection with pathways related to the body’s natural antioxidant defenses and cellular function. Through these supportive roles, fisetin is intended to help support cellular wellness, resilience and vitality as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Spermidine (from Spermidine 3HCI) (Yuth™): 3 milligrams
Spermidine is a naturally occurring polyamine found in foods such as wheat germ, mushrooms and whole grains and is increasingly used in supplements for its role in cellular maintenance and healthy aging. A 3 milligram serving of spermidine provides targeted support for cellular health. to help maintain energy while supporting healthy aging and long-term vitality.
FAQs
- How do Prime™ NMN and Prime™ NAD+ work differently to support NAD+ production?
NMN and NR are different NAD+ precursors that support the body’s NAD+ pool through distinct metabolic routes. The body regulates NAD+ production, so using both may offer a broader support profile, though more isn’t always better.
- Will I benefit from taking both Prime™ NMN and Prime NAD+ together?
Yes, NMN and NR supplementation support NAD+ levels in the body through different pathways. NMN is one step closer to NAD⁺ than NR. Pairing Prime™ NAD+ (formulated with NR and pterostilbene) with Prime™ NMN (formulated with NMN, fisetin and Yuth™—spermidine) could offer a broader longevity-supporting profile, exceeding NAD⁺ support.
- What other products pair well with Prime™ NMN?
Isotonix OPC-3® helps support oxidative balance, while Isotonix® Activated B Complex can help ensure all B vitamins and cofactors are present for NAD+ metabolism. Heart Health™ Advanced Co-Q10 (Cardiovascular & Immune Support Formula) is another product that works well alongside Prime™ NMN. Heart Health™ Advanced Co-Q10 is vital for cellular energy (ATP) production and mitochondrial health. CoQ10 serves as a free radical scavenger and an antioxidant and, when paired with NMN, it can help promote cellular energy and metabolism.
- If I already take Prime NAD+, should I switch to Prime™ NMN?
Both products support NAD+ production; the choice comes down to your personal and formulation preference.
- What is the ideal daily supplementation amount to acquire anti-aging benefits?
For optimal results, Prime™ NMN should be taken daily.
- Does this product provide the same benefits to men and women?
Current evidence suggests that supplementing with NR or NMN NAD+ precursors provides the same benefits for both men and women. Benefits are more related to age than gender. However, various studies have revealed evidence that men tend to have slightly higher baselines of NAD+ in their blood. One study also revealed that men tended to have a more linear downslope trend of NAD+ levels with age, whereas women’s levels showed a trend of fluctuation of NAD+ whole blood levels. While the exact reason for this is still unknown, one speculation is that it may be due to females’ hormones. Therefore, men may benefit from having higher NAD+ levels than women initially, but their downward trend of NAD+ levels suggests they may age more progressively.
- Are there any age restrictions?
Generally this product is recommended for adults. Research on supplementation with NMN focuses mainly on mid- to later-life adults (ages 35+), when natural NAD+ levels decline.
- When is the best time to take Prime™ NMN?
Most users take it in the morning with food, as NAD+ levels fluctuate with circadian rhythm and energy demand. It’s okay to take it later in the day, but the best results are likely in the morning.
- Aside from aging, what else can deplete NAD+ levels in the body?
Regardless of age, certain lifestyle factors may influence the body’s nutritional needs, including those related to NAD-related metabolic processes. Habits such as smoking, alcohol consumption, low physical activity, excess weight, inadequate sleep, and poor dietary patterns are commonly associated with overall metabolic and cellular health.
- What are NAD+ precursors?
Various sources of vitamin B3, including nicotinamide riboside (NR), nicotinic acid (NA), nicotinamide (NAM), nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and the non-vitamin B derivative tryptophan (Trp), are known as precursors of NAD+, meaning they support the production of NAD+.
- How does age impact the performance of NAD+ consuming enzymes?
NAD+-consuming enzymes are enzymes that require NAD to function properly and have been shown to become more active as we age. Some factors may influence how NAD⁺-dependent enzymes function over time In particular, age-related NAD+ decline and sirtuin activity are greatly impacted by the increased activity of two specific NAD+-consuming enzymes, CD38 and PARPs. Sirtuins are associated with supporting cellular health. They play a role in helping cells respond to everyday stressors and maintain normal cellular processes. Regular CD38 enzyme activity is associated with a healthy immune response and metabolic functioning, while PARPs activity can be ramped up by oxidative stress and promote cellular health
- What are telomeres?
Telomeres are genome-protective caps that are located at the ends of chromosomes and indicate the age or suggested lifespan of a cell, in which the longer the telomere, the better. Telomeres are like the clear coating at the end of the shoelace string that keeps the lace from fraying; each time your cells divide, the chromosomal telomeres become shorter. Where maintaining healthy NAD+ production promotes healthy sirtuin activity, healthy sirtuin activity helps support the regulation of telomeres. Evidence shows that shorter telomeres contain lower NAD+ levels. Just as NAD+ levels decrease with age, telomeres naturally shorten with age, and both are correlated with the health of the cells and their ability to support the body’s cellular regeneration process.
- How is NMN absorbed so quickly?
Research indicates that NMN taken orally is absorbed rapidly—often within minutes—and shortly after ingestion, it supports the production of NAD+ in various tissues. Animal research has identified a specific NMN-transporter, Slc12a8, which is responsible for facilitating the rapid uptake of NMN for immediate utilization in NAD+ biosynthesis. However, studies are still being done to see if this is the same for humans.
- What are the two factors that play into the continuous support of NAD+?
The consumption and synthesis of NAD are two factors that play into the support of healthy levels of NAD+ within the cells. There are three pathways that are responsible for helping to maintain this balance, known as the Preiss-Handler pathway, De novo biosynthesis pathway, and the Salvage pathway. Each pathway works differently to support how the body processes different NAD-related nutrients as part of overall cellular metabolism. The NAD+ precursor NMN is specifically linked to the salvage pathway.
- How much NMN is safe to consume daily?
Clinical trials suggest that oral supplementation of 150 – 900 mg a day is safe.
- How does fisetin support cognitive function?
In various animal studies, fisetin has shown to support cognitive functioning. Preclinical research in animal models show that fisetin may support the development of neurons and helps maintain their functioning and longevity and positively activated pathways (ERK1/2 and CREB phosphorylation) associated with memory and learning. However, because these findings are based on animal studies, further research is needed to determine whether similar mechanisms apply in humans’ studies.
